Being one of the people that would not have assumed you were a Christian based on your beliefs until you stated it, it's nice to get some extra info on your views. The issue with me is more one of not wanting to assume something like "oh, that dude is a christian" based on a few passing remarks that may or may not match with what would commonly be thought of as Christian (because as you said, it's pretty diverse), but once someone says something about THEMSELVES, it's all good :D 06-10-01 10:03:50 _____________________________________________________

cradamik ::: Favorites This is an excellent point! Jesus was fully Jewish, he even said he came to "fulfill" and not "abolish" the law (Judaism). Christianity originated with Jesus' followers, names Paul of Tarsus, who is believed to have written the majority of the New Testament. BTW--I consider myself a "Liberal" Christian too, although I'm uncomfortable with such labels...it's hard to even keep track of what such titles even mean. abortedsoul ::: Favorites This is the only strand of Christianity that has survived in the couple of colleges I went to. It's much less abrasive, which makes it easier to stomach for some people. This post isn't being made to piss you off; that said, Now, I feel that this type of Christianity is trying to tidy-up something that is wrong, much like how digital, miniscule-transaction theft of fractions of pennies seems like less of a crime to some people. 1938superman ::: Favorites And if you believe them to be lies then you obviously shouldn't be a christian. But there are some of us that genuinely do believe it. That's why I'm a christian. I also happened to beleive that God has been used by many people to add backing to their own backwards ideas and agendas. Even the authors of Bible, still being human obviously, would have been unable to escape their own bias and perception when they wrote the Bible.
