Cabazon Dinosaurs From the Interstate Highway, the uncommon view of two giant dinosaurs, on an arid plain surrounded by mountains, is an irresistible magnet. But tourists are not the only ones compelled to stop. Well within a convenient day-drive of the Los Angeles sphere, the Cabazon Dinosaurs became media darlings appearing commercials, music videos, film and print ads. The dinosaurs were built nearly 30 years ago. The apatosaurus took eleven years to build and is arguably the largest dinosaur in America. A small museum in Dinny's belly sells gifts and dinosaur related items. Over 12,000,000 people each year see the giant dinos from Interstate 10. |

TheSoundOfHush 2008-04-05 16:01:12 Oh yeah, and I don't know if any of you have heard but they were recently bought by a CREATIONIST and the last time I went there, there was a fence right behind/through the t-rex. I saw more dinosaurs being built behind the fence. I can only HOPE the asshole who owns them isn't going to pull some stupid creationist theory like "the dinosaurs and the humans lived together in harmony" shit. I want to cry, I really do. __________________________________________________
TheSoundOfHush 2008-04-05 15:58:46 When I was little, you would drive down the highway, into the middle of nowhere and you could see the dinosaurs for miles. It always made me so excited. Now they are surrounded by a huge casino, Burger King, gas stations and theres a mini-mall down the road. I honestly wanted to cry when i first saw what the had done. __________________________________________________

hughlooks 2007-05-27 01:24:00 I was there a few times. They are cool to see. That's were Pee Wee Herman almost got his block knocked off by Simone's man. I got a picture of myself under one of T-Rex claws. It was fun! If you ever go there, be sure to visit the shop inside of the dinosaurs stomach, if it's still there. __________________________________________________ |
