Back in 1949 the first sitcom debuted on CBS television. It was called the Goldbergs and was a big hit on radio that was adapted for TV. It was about a Jewish family and at the time was unique. It followed a family going through zany situations. And that's what sit-com stands for "situation comedy." Maybe you don't know the Goldbergs, but chances are you loved sitcoms at some point in time.
