Nvidia are slating the G92 out in november, where as ATI's R700 wont be out untill late Q2 2008, yet again, months after nvidia to market. Unless the 2950xtx is something very special, I dunno what ATI are doing :/

AHEM, what we're talking about here is the RV670, 45/55m chip not the R(V)700 if that's even confirmed by the developers. What both AMD and ATi is heading for is the conquer Intel/nvidia in the lead of power effeciency, having a Quad Core processor running at less than 70W is indeed impressive and will be launched by the end of the year, and a high-end, power effecient videocard ain't gonna be too bad either. Less money on PSUs and more money on actual hardware.

It was confirmed, and I am saying, the R670 is going to be desinged to beat the 8800 ultras. Which seems narrow minded because G92 would destroy it. I dont see the relivance of how the CPU (AMD) devision is on a side by side comparison of the two cards when we wanna know which is better

Since AMD and ATi is the same company more or less and as ever the CPU and GPU is as important when it comes to games - but for the cards themselves, remember the RV670 is a chip, not designed for one specific product - but I doubt the G92 will do that much of a groundbreaking deal since the resellers still want to get rid of those 8800ultras before there's any stronger card out there as I also think the G92 is going to be a GTX with higher bandwith and GDDR4 memory, perhaps.

No it isnt, the point of the GPU's (more and more) is to take the strain off the CPU, and work out more of the game on its own. Granted the CPU is an important part of it, but I still dont see the relevance of a CPu on a side by side comparison of graphics cards. And, G92 is, well yea like you say, the shrunk nano process of the G80, support for PCI-e 2.0 also, 'apparantly' we shall see

The importance of the CPU is to make things clear a 8800GTX can't really do anything with something like a Intel Celeron processor from past generation - and the RV670 just as well will have PCI-E 2.0 support which we will see with the new AM3 boards Q1 next year, or close to that.

This video has some wrong things... 1. You don't need 1 x 6pin and 1 x 8pin, only 2 x 6pin for overclocking. Only ATI Overdrive needs what Rodney said. Rodney, you really need a better CPU coz the bottleneck of the E6400 is making the card look bad!
